Pets

This week our theme was "Pets" and we learned about the many different kids of pets people can have. We talked about how to take care of them and how they depend on us to keep them safe. Our week ended with a field trip to the Medford Veterinarian Clinic where we saw the exam room, X-rays, the lab, surgery room, teeth cleaning station, and some specimens in jars.

We also focused on the letter Xx and found that not many words start with Xx but some do end with it. We have been collecting coins to add to our Pennies for Pets fundraiser. The Pre-K students were able to raise $265.28! This money will be donated to the Taylor County Humane Society.

Next week our theme will be "Seeds and Flowers". The school is having the 3rd annual plastic bag challenge-sponsored by County Market. We will take any clean plastic bags that you would like to recycle. The class who has the most wins a prize.

Reminders:
--Our April Families Being Involved event will be the 27th in the MAES commons. Dinner starts at 5:00 and the dance will start around 5:30. The families that signed up to attend are asked to bring a towel/blanket to sit on and a dish to pass.
--Next week is Week of the Young Child. There are school and community events throughout the week. At school we have dress up days as follows: Monday-Pajama Day, Tuesday-Super Hero T-shirt or Princess Day, Wednesday-Crazy Day (socks, inside out clothes, crazy hair), Thursday-Beach Day, Friday-Favorite Sports Team Day
